OUR EXPECTATIONS FROM PARENTS / GUARDIANS

We believe it is the responsibility of all those who interact with students to provide a supportive, emotional, social and academic environment, focusing on the unique talents, abilities and needs of the child. Our approach aims to increase independent access to the curriculum. We believe effective learning support utilizes a collaborative approach, supporting students, teachers and parents in developing an environment that results in optimum learning. It is the responsibility of all teachers to ensure that support is relevant, contextual and consistent with the school curriculum. Our process focuses on ensuring the success of students with learning needs along their educational pathway. The combined skills of thinking, communication, social, self management and research encourage the child to develop and transform its life to one of continuous learning. We therefore request parents:
  1. To read the handbook and discuss the rules and policies with their children.
  2. To supervise the child actively during non-school hours.
  3. To make sure the child meets the academic and behavioural expectations of the school.
  4. To ensure their child is in school on time every day. Except in case of illness and emergencies.
  5. To assure their child’s compliance with the uniform standards.
  6. To provide a quiet, well-lit place for study in the home.
  7. To establish a consistent time for homework.
  8. To set limits and monitor the use of electronic devices, cell phones, telephones, TV, video games and the Internet.
  9. To encourage the child to eat nutritious meals and snacks.
